TrackID is an Android app developed by Sony Mobile Communications (Mobilev. 4 22188 Lund Sweden). Others apps created by Sony Mobile Communications are: Smart Connect™, SmartWatch, Xperia Lounge, Audio Recorder, AR effect, Bokeh (Background defocus), Lifelog, Sketch, Xperia Transfer Mobile.

TrackID first became available on 22 Dec 2011. It is estimated that TrackID has been downloaded between 10000000 and 50000000 times from the Play Store.

TrackID 4.5.B.0.10 requires the following permissions:

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows an application to modify global audio settings.

Allows an application to record audio.

Allows an application to change the Z-order of tasks.

Allows access to the vibrator.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
